Hotel Do Caracol - Angra do Heroismo

Had a great time at Caracol! The ocean view from my room was fine, and the staff were great too assist us. Enjoyed the large swimming pool, but the breakfast variety could definitely use some improvement.

The stuff is very amiable and the breakfast is delicious and very good. The room is brand-new with a comfortable bed and pillows. Nice touch to have its own balcony and a lounge area.

Everything was lovely here, and the views were breathtaking. We had twin room with a private bathroom. The staff was best with very good services.

Why I'm torn on this

Fine ocean view from the balcony and a cozy room made for a great escape! The staff were helpful and friendly.

The soundproofing between rooms was poor. The breakfast quality left much to be desired.

Impeccably clean, great value hotel, the location was amazing right by the ocean-safe, the main square and the downtown area plus different bars/restaurants and a cute lil mini mart across the street. Liked staying at the well-appointed double room on the second level.

Staying here made it so easy to stroll around the charming city of angra do heroismo, as many key landmarks like the cathedral and duke of terceira garden are just a short walk away. The views from the bar area are fine, perfect to relax after a day of exploration.

The hotel has a beautiful site. The sea view from the balconies is excellent. The swimming in the "Porto da Silveira" is very nice

The hotel is a bit far from the city center.It should have a free shuttle bus to take the guests to the city.

Very good location. Parking available in front. Some of the staff were very helpful, and would even come with me (in Portuguese style) to show me where something was located on the grounds.

Internet did not work, very slow and unusable. Check in and out was tedious and very slow. Not enough staff and too slow.

A good stay with fine views

Housekeeping was perfect, and the staff always offered a warm greeting.

Unfortunately, the breakfast options remained the same each morning, which got a bit monotonous during my week-long stay. I also experienced some noise from neighboring rooms, which could be distracting at times.

The hotel facilities were great. I loved the private parking garage. The location is awsome for a city trip. The rooms are nice but not accorded to a 4-star hotel.

The staff at the arrival were very unpolite. Adding - no smiles. The bar/restaurant service was awful. We waited one hour for our dinner/meals to be served, plus it didn't come all we asked for on the dish and it seemed that we were forgotten the whole meal. There weren't so many people in the dining room to justify it. It lacks employees? Maybe yes! The breakfast isn't so good: it lacks variety, scrambled eggs seemed like milk - crumbled, fresh fruit were dehydrated and in all of our stay we had pick ourselves the plates knifes and forks for our breakfast!

The friendliness of the staff. The relax atmosphere of the place. The stunning landscape out of our window, and the possibility of good food at the restaurant.

The little ones loved playing in the bay nearby where we also tried some snorkeling. Exploring Angra do Heroísmo on foot was a good experience for the whole family.

My kids wished for a better breakfast selection.

All the employers were extremely nice

The Spa is not a real Spa, it is a Health Club with some Spa services. The pool inside is located in a closed room, without windows, it is not a pleasant place.

Nice place, wonderful breakfirst, very nice staff, and very good location.
